The Daily Mail's James Robinson writes about the market for retail returns, or 'recommerce', exploring how shoppers looking for a deal in the January sales would do well to look at auction sites such as i-bidder.com.

He says, "while High Street stores and online retailers slash prices on their winter lines, savvy bargain hunters are snapping up other cheap deals elsewhere. Unloved presents and old shop display items are being flogged for discount prices on some UK auction sites - which specialise in selling shop returns".

ATG's consumer surplus and retails returns marketplace i-bidder.com lists hundreds of items from auction houses selling returned or unsold stock from big chain stores.
