thesaleroom.com brings Bonhams on board
thesaleroom.com, Europe’s leading online portal for art and antique auctions, has announced a long-term partnership with Bonhams that will see the global auction house list and webcast the majority of its UK and international sales on thesaleroom.com’s marketplace for the first time.
The partnership will enable Bonhams sales to reach the many thousands of bidders and collectors that visit thesaleroom.com every day, and to capture bidders earlier in their buying cycle.
John-Paul Savant, CEO of Auction Technology Group, which owns thesaleroom.com, said, “We’re thrilled to have Bonhams on board. We look forward to working with them to support the growth of their online sales and open up their auctions to a yet wider audience of bidders and buyers.”
Bonhams Executive Chairman, Bruno Vinciguerra, said, “Bonhams is excited by what thesaleroom.com’s reach and presence can do to further our online sales strategy. thesaleroom.com has an unrivalled bidder base in the UK and internationally and a proven ability to generate new bidders for auctioneers, particularly early on in the buying journey.”
Bonhams will start listing auctions on thesaleroom.com in October, beginning with Islamic and Indian Art (including Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art) and Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art at its flagship New Bond Street saleroom.
Bonhams will also simultaneously list and webcast its sales on thesaleroom.com’s German sister site, Lot-tissimo. Both sites will list and webcast the majority of Bonhams’ sales in London, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Hong Kong.
