ATG names President of Industrial and Commercial in North America

28/09/2022

Auction Technology Group plc (LON:ATG), operator of the world’s leading marketplaces for curated online auctions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeremy Stewart as President of Industrial and Commercial (I&C) in North America.

In the newly formed role, Jeremy will be responsible for continuing to advance the I&C business and deliver incremental value to ATG customers, while bringing together an exciting pipeline of innovations that are being rolled out across the I&C business in North America following a period of strong growth.

One of the first new services to roll out will be ATG Pay, an integrated payment offering that will make it easier for bidders to transact on ATG’s marketplaces and allow its auctioneer partners to quickly and seamlessly collect payment, all while automatically complying with state tax law.

ATG’s I&C business in North America has evolved significantly in recent years, with the addition of new services and marketplaces to the Group, notably the integration of Proxibid into the ATG family in 2020. Auctioneers now benefit from an enhanced network effect through Proxibid’s connection to BidSpotter, a wider array of digital marketing solutions, and back-office software through Wavebid. This brings more bidders to each auction and helps auctioneers achieve optimal prices for their assets. Jeremy and the North American team have a strong foundation upon which to enhance ATG’s offering to the auction industry.

In his previous roles, Jeremy successfully built and led two-sided digital marketplaces. He joins ATG from Care.com, where he was President, Supply & Operations. Prior to that, he served as President of Angie's List (now Angi), overseeing the Angie's List and HomeStars marketplaces and mHelpDesk field service management product. This experience will be highly complementary to the deep auction experience of ATG’s North American I&C and global executive teams.

John-Paul Savant, CEO of ATG, said:

“Our Industrial & Commercial business has seen excellent progress in recent years, and we are excited by the opportunity to continue to serve the auction industry with a stronger set of products that attract more bidders and drive higher asset prices, while also streamlining auction house operations. The President of Industrial & Commercial for ATG North America is a new role and shows our commitment and focus on serving this sector.  We will increase our investment in technology, product, services, and people, as we partner with auction houses in the evolution of the auction industry from offline to online, ultimately enabling us to better serve both auctioneers and bidders. In Jeremy we have found a proven leader with an excellent track record, and I am pleased to welcome him to ATG.”

Jeremy Stewart, President of Industrial & Commercial North America, said:

“This is an exciting time to join ATG. The team here has already made great strides to augment the auctioneer and bidder experience and I am eager to build upon that work. Our goal is to perfect and advance the online auction eco-system, enabling our auctioneers and their consignors to maximise the value of their secondary assets as well as helping buyers find industrial and commercial equipment. I look forward to continuing the momentum of recent years and ensuring ATG equips auctioneers with the digital tools they need to be successful online.”
