Auction Technology Group (ATG), owner of the world’s leading digital auction marketplaces, including thesaleroom.com, BidSpotter and Proxibid, has announced the appointment of Andy Furlong as Chief Marketing Officer.
Andy joins ATG from Big Bus Tours, where he was Executive Vice President of Marketing and E-Commerce. There, he was central to the digital transformation and rapid expansion of the business, including major enhancement of the online buying experience. Andy has more than 20 years’ experience in marketing and e-commerce at well-known brands including Europcar, Tui and Neilson.
At ATG Andy is responsible for driving marketing activities for ATG and its six global auction marketplaces – thesaleroom.com, Proxibid, BidSpotter.com, BidSpotter.co.uk, i-bidder.com, and Lot-tissimo. Andy manages ATG’s global PR and Marketing team and reports into John-Paul Savant, Chief Executive Officer. He is part of the Executive Leadership Team.
John-Paul Savant, CEO of ATG, said, “The online auction industry is at a pivotal point in its evolution, with the recent COVID-19 crisis bringing the importance of reaching large numbers of online bidders, in the right way, into sharp focus. Finding a CMO who had the right strategic, pragmatic, hands-on skills combined with a solid track record for team development and the collaborative behaviours that have been key to ATG’s success so far was critical. And we feel we found the right person in Andy.”
Andy Furlong commented, “I am passionate about driving business success through the combination of well targeted and executed marketing activity and best in class customer experience. Even before the events of the last few months, the potential of the ATG business was obvious. I am excited by the global nature of the company and the clear opportunities to develop a marketing strategy that supports both the growth of ATG and the success of the auction houses that use our marketplaces.”
