01/07/2018

ATG is pleased to announce the appointment of Badr Khan as CTO. Badr joins ATG from MATCHESFASHION where he was Head of Engineering. In that role, he grew the engineering team from 12 to 55 and helped the company build a highly successful digital business. Badr brings a blend of e-commerce, retail, strong team management and technical expertise.

Badr joins an already strong leadership team, with CFO Tom Hargreaves having joined the company from Vodafone and Yell in January, Eric Koenig leading ATG North America since last October coming from Expedia and Hubzu, Richard Lewis as COO with 15+ years’ experience in the industry, and CEO John-Paul Savant, formerly on the executive team of PayPal EMEA and a 10 year PayPal/eBay veteran.

“It’s very exciting to join a modern technology business that through its digital marketplace and SaaS solutions is transforming two of the last industries in the world that have not moved meaningfully online. I’m excited to be part of this team and look forward to further advancing ATG’s technical leadership of the auction industry,” said Badr Khan, new CTO of Auction Technology Group.

John-Paul Savant, CEO of Auction Technology Group commented: “ATG operates a unique online marketplace platform that supports a wide range of specialised verticals. As we expand internationally – we recently acquired Lot-tissimo, the leading Art & Antiques online marketplace in Germany and previously acquired Bidspotter, the leading Industrial and Commercial marketplace in the USA – a strong and scalable technology will be ever more crucial, as will the pace at which we innovate on that core technology. Badr brings deep experience in some of the most advanced and popular technologies and SaaS, both at the infrastructure and user levels. His skills combined with those of the rest of our team are vital as we facilitate the evolution of the traditional auctioneering world online at a standard to rival other top tier ecommerce user experiences… all while retaining the value and excitement of the unique world of auctions.”
