The Times' Interiors Editor Katrina Burroughs has written about why interiors and design experts will be buying more antiques in 2021 - with reasons from sustainability, to style, to stories. 

We spoke to her about the increasing numbers of bidders seeking interiors pieces on our art & antiques marketplace thesaleroom.com - with 50 per cent more bidders in furniture auctions in autumn 2020 compared with the same months the previous year.

'Sofa' continues to be the most searched-for furniture item on the site, but 'desk' jumped up four places to 2nd position in our search rankings last year, thanks to the scarcity of good-quality, affordable desks on the high street during the pandemic.
